Q What does it cost the person calling my magicJack?

A If your magicJack phone number is in the same area code as your friends and family they are not charged long distance to call your magicJack phone number. If they are in a different area code, they are subject to the rates their phone company would charge for calling the area code your magicJack is registered with.

Q Can my magicJack be used on another computer?

A Yes, you can move your magicJack from one computer to another. magicJack is NOT tied to the computer it was originally registered on, which is why magicJack is so portable.

All you have to do is plug your magicJack into the new computer and wait for the software to appear and you will be able to make and receive calls within seconds.

Q Does my computer need to be on to receive calls?

A Yes. If the computer is turned off, voicemail will automatically take the call. You can also use our call forwarding feature to forward calls to your cell, home, or business number when the computer is turned off.

Q I'm on DSL can i still use my computer?

A Yes. magicJack will use only a portion of your bandwidth, ( 20 kb ) so you can continue to use your computer and DSL connection.

Step 1
Please try a different USB port. If that does not work, go to step 2

A. Click Start 
 

B. Click Control Panel

C. If in Category View, click switch to classic view. If not, jump to step D.

D. Double click Add or Remove Programs

Look for anything called musicmatch, musicmatch Jukebox or Yahoo Jukebox. If you
have any, please uninstall them. If that does not work, go to step 4

Step 4
A. Open Task Manager (Control+ALT+Delete)
B. Click the tab named Processes

C. Locate and end the following processes: UTSCSI, NEWNET_SETUP,
MAGICJACK, and MAGICJACKLOADER. If one or several of these are not
listed, do not worry. Now unplug your magicJack, wait 15 seconds, and plug it
back in. If that does not work, go to step 5

C. Right click the drive named magicJack ( Vista Only)

E. Click OK

F. Unplug your magicJack and plug it back in
